A PASSION FOR ACCOUNTING

My name is Jacki Smith and I have nearly 20 years of experience in various accounting industries. My primary focus has been Property Management accounting although I have worked with libraries, tech companies and other small businesses as well.

I have always had a passion for accounting and have found over the course of my career that it is hard to maintain that enthusiasm in a field overrun by big businesses and corporate environments. So much detail is lost with employees who are overworked or underqualified and large companies who are only concerned with their bottom line, not the client's needs.

The combination of my passion and my analytical nature allows me to thrive in even the most complex accounting situations. I have taken on projects that no others would and have made a career out of being the go-to person for the most difficult tasks. I do not give up and I feel like that is what my clients deserves.

When the pandemic occurred it was even more evident that the accounting field was lacking true accounting professionals with integrity and an incredible eye for detail. There is a shortage of qualified, driven accountants but unfortunately roles need to be filled in a big company and it only hurts the clients with lackluster service and costly mistakes.

Gaia|Rhys is the manifestation of my desire not to be limited by those above me and always provide the absolute best service to my clients without excuses or limitations. I have spent my career refusing to take shortcuts no matter what. My clients always know that I am handling their needs personally and know the quality they will receive.

There are no corporate hoops or employee hierarchy to jump through. I serve a small clientele so that services remain personal and adaptable. My goal is exceptional accounting service, not saturating a portfolio of clients.

Nearly 20 years as a professional, degreed Accountant allow me to provide knowledgeable, detailed service. It's not about plugging in your information and printing out a report. Our services are done with intent and the bigger picture in mind.

My experience ranges from working with investors and lenders to working with clients that have a limited knowledge of accounting.

Our namesake

Gaia|Rhys is named after my children who inspire me everyday to strive for more.

Gaia ("guy-a") - the Greek mother goddess who watched over and cared for Earth

Rhys ("rees") - comes from the Welsh for enthusiasm

Both of these meanings are deeply rooted in me as an Accountant. My goal is to always care for my clients' businesses as I would my own and to always do it with passion.
